Presentation Editor: In this merry month of May Mr Louis rests under a tree, a bullet in the throat. In his will he bequeaths to his house hunters five customers, its forest inhabited by wild boars, the pigs and even beloved, the handyman of the property. The heirs land: a retired inspector, a couple raptor, a soldier and a brothel owner. Without a shadow of a thought for the deceased, eagerly they wait for the notary. That never comes. Among them, a missing woman. Emilie de Turckheim, in a language crude, ironic and cruel sow doubt and indices with the virtuosity of a master of suspense.
As for me
Writing is confusing in that the narrator is simply the handyman Property: Beloved. Beloved is a man a bit cheesy, and as he said from the beginning, he does not tell stories.
And yet I read it, and when I closed it with a big smile as I understand better why on the fourth cover it says "between love and vengeance, a camera at the Chabrol." The story is quite simply a story of inheritance between five clients knew that Mr. Louis Aimé ... we will describe and tell us their names. Names we find later, compared with a past history.
But then in the evening, a person who was in very good health, died suddenly. The vultures will be happy to receive a larger portion of the inheritance. But for that they must wait for the notary who is not in a hurry. Aime did his best for many receive them and make them talk, history fill the silence, to revive the memory of Mr. Louis.
A little book that I loved for its cynicism, black humor. But then when I got to the last how did I could see what would happen? I was pleasantly surprised.
