What a pleasure to find the characters in the book Chocolat: Vianne, Anouk, Roux. But of course there are also new as Thierry, Rosette and Zozie.
Here, the story does place more stock in a small village but after four years in the big city: Paris, and just as the leaves know the title in Montmartre.
Vianne is no longer what it was since then, she changed her first name and last name, and did the same for Anouk becomes Annie. She wore colorful clothes no longer does. She adopts his lifestyle from the people of his city, to blend into the anonymity of everyday life, not to get noticed. She put aside the magic, and the manufacture of chocolates, even if she works in a chocolate factory. The family grew with the arrival of Rosetta, a little sister Annie. Rosetta is four years old but is very different from children of his age.
Between a scene in a young woman without a heart who takes identity as she change of shoes. It will come in the name of Zozie. She and Yanne have one thing in common: the magic. If one is afraid to use it and prefer to try to live a normal life, the other likes to play.
Then there is Annie in between. Annie pleased to be able to attend school but has had trouble making friends because she is different. Then she does not understand his mother: it has changed and those eyes is not the mother with whom she enjoyed sharing ... Thierry and there with his mother who is near and do not understand why she has forgotten Roux.
When Zozie enters their life, there is a touch of freshness. Zozie seeks to approach Annie, to gain her trust because she has many projects in mind but why exactly?
It was a pleasure to read the author, and especially to find these characters. Once again, the author has given life to his characters (as main secondary) through these descriptions.
The novel is divided between three voices, each chapter having one of the three following sympole to represent: the jaguar for Zozie, the rising moon for Annie, the sun black Yanne.
I had a great time with this novel filled with magic and yet close to a side of modern life (eg Annie with her problems pre-teen, Yanne which seeks: that she really wants in his situation? Between Thierry who is willing to offer him a stable life, plain and Roux she can not avoid his feelings).
